Recap: TueNight Live: Photos from “FLASH”

On September 25, TueNight Live steamed things up with our latest issue —  FLASH. Braving the (appropriately named) flash floods outside, we cozied into the couches of Industrious to talk flashbacks, hot flashes, fevers and desert orgies.

All photos by Erika Hokanson.

Margit introduced the evening and a flash of skin. Dig her “Trouble Maker” temporary tattoo from Tattly.

Alixandria Arungah, community manager for our sponsor Industrious Brooklyn, welcomed us into her comfortable space.

Activist Sara Berliner describes her organization Vote Like a Mother, as one that promotes acceptance, equity, justice and love.

Tracey made us laugh with a tale of her first hot flash in the five Kübler-Ross stages.

Jen reads her story of getting pregnant, going through menopause and learning the ukulele.

We were delighted to witness her first public performance, adapting Peggy Lee’s Fever into a hilarious (and also poignant?) meditation on menopause and aging.

Karen Gerwin introduces Sue Kramer TueNight Live

TueNight newsletter editor Karen Gerwin introduced her good friend, Sue Kramer.

Sue brought us stories from her past bodies — from the Playboy mansion to Paris — and how her sex today is even better.

We ended our first half with a very frank, very saucy conversation with Domina, who gave us five tips for mind-blowing sex. With a few props. Mm-hmm

We took a quick break, A great opportunity to try on a new t-shirt from Vote Like a Mother.

Or get another glass of wine from Winey Neighbor or bottle of water, courtesy of Hint Water. Thank you, sponsors!

We caught up with good friends and made new ones.

Big crowd at TueNight Live

We returned to a powerful performance piece by artist Nancy, Nowacek who jumped rope over a spoken word performance called, ‘Comrades of Time’.

Margit and Adrianna took a moment to announce a surprise goodie bag from sponsor MedAmour

Of course we were dying to know what was inside, so Domina unpacked and showed us the very generous gift of lubes and vibrators. And then we all took home our own lube. Check out www.medamour.com and use the promo code TUENIGHT for $10 off a purchase of $50 or more. Thank you, MedAmour!

Susan McPherson reads about her super useful first hot flash, in the Finnish Arctic.

Nina Lorez Collins reads a sexy, sexy excerpt from her new book, What Would Virginia Woolf Do?: And Other Questions I Ask Myself as I Attempt to Age Without Apology.

It was a great night! Thanks to everyone who came and don’t miss our next event, our 5th Year Birthday Party in Brooklyn on October 23. Early bird tickets available now!
